Portraits, Poems & Prayers
As the Covid pandemic began to change our lives in the spring of 2020, I found myself like many others staying at home and wondering how to make this time productive. I’ve always loved an empty square on my calendar but the pandemic left me with many days of isolation. For some time I had envisioned a book with my charcoal drawings and journal writings but it was always on the back burner and a project to be considered for another day. Being faced with time, energy and the interest to begin another book project I dove into my journals and my drawings and began to organize what I had for another publication. Artist and digital expert Dave Turner was asked to help with the book and the website design. He took on the details of this project with great interest and became the editor and book designer needed to bring Portraits, Poems & Prayers to life. So, Here we are a year later with a book in hand. All the drawings and the writings came together and I was once more confirmed of my mission statement, “Always, always I must communicate and create.” My hope is that you will enjoy the art and the words of Portraits, Poems & Prayers and that you will pass it on.
